Find Your Region
The California Association of Student Councils (CASC) divides the state into 12 regions. By identifying which region you belong to, you can become a region member and participate in various region-specific events. These events include region conferences, workshops, and other activities that are exclusive to each region, providing opportunities for networking, leadership development, and community engagement.

Fostering Tomorrow's Leaders
The mission of the California Association of Student Councils is to provide leadership development for elementary, middle, and high school students and their advisors in California and across the world through peer training. Our programs emphasize authenticity, ethics, and collaborative decision-making which enhance learning outside of the classroom by fostering self-esteem and civic engagement. CASC advocates for the youth, provides an avenue for the expression on student views and empowers young people.

Student Advisory Board on Legislation in Education (SABLE)
At SABLE, students in small groups discuss and develop solutions to state education issues over three days, culminating in proposals presented to the California Senate Education Committee, leading to significant changes in statewide policies.
Youth Action Summit of California (YASC)
The Youth Action Summit of California (YASC) is the most effective way to create a positive impact on the world. While many opportunities exist to learn how to do things right, YASC emphasizes learning how to do the right thing.
Elementary & Middle School Leadership Conferences
One day workshops for students and advisors focus on teamwork, building leadership skills, and new ideas for a more effective student council.
Summer Leadership Conference
CASC's Summer Conference is a leadership camp unlike any other – it's a conference by students, for students, where campers are empowered to change their community and stand out as leaders, forming lifelong friendships along the way. Our camp provides students and educators with leadership skills, team building techniques, and inspiration to transform their school and community, empowering them to make a difference.

"Joining CASC has been one of the best decisions of my life. Not only has it taught me essential leadership skills to succeed in my future career but it has also given me a family of like-minded, passionate students who want to change the world for the better. Due to the programs, the priceless experiences, and my friends at CASC, I have gained the courage to step up for what I believe is right."

Our Legislative Work
SB 468 received the Governor's approval on September 25, 2017. The bill requires that student board members receive all meeting materials presented to the board members. Additionally, student board members are invited to briefings with board members or separate briefings within the same timeframe.
AB 261 was approved by the Governor on September 23, 2017. The bill grants a student member of a district board preferential voting rights.
SB 532 has officially been signed by the Governor on September 21, 2015! This is really a testament to how much important work we can do at the capitol. The bill mandates each school board must create a student school board member position within 60 days of receiving a qualified petition from the student body.
